International Students

♦ Why was this project initiated?
Students who are interested in diverse fields such as: economics, history, international law, philosophy, geography, social work, sociology, anthropology, criminology, psychology, gender studies, and cultural studies, are severely lacking opportunities to expand their interest in diverse ways that extend beyond individual readings and institutionalized courses. What is the IR project? Our International Relations Project recognizes the need for students to be able to explore, research, and develop their interdisciplinary interests in a meaningful and enriching manner. Although “International Relations” has been hugely referred to as a sub-sector of Political Science, the IR realm has developed into a significant world of its own. Observing, critiquing and learning through a set of identified theories and perspectives, students will receive instruction from an advanced instructor in the field of IR to research, discuss, and cultivate and IR perspective of various crucial issues. Some of the issues include but are not limited to: international security, globalization, human rights, human rights, economic development, ecological sustainability, nuclear proliferation, and much more!
